Smoothing Fine Lines Without Surgery: How Juvéderm® Can Help Restore Volume and Softness

Smoothing Fine Lines Without Surgery: How Juvéderm® Can Help Restore Volume and Softness

Considered one of the country’s premier dermal fillers, Juvéderm® contains hyaluronic acid (HA) to recreate your body’s natural production of age-defying elastin and collagen.

Joshua M. Berlin, MD, and our dynamic team use Juvéderm ® injections with pain-blocking lidocaine to reduce your fine lines and wrinkles in a flash at Premier Dermatology Partners® in Boynton Beach, Florida.

How does Juvéderm work?

Dermal fillers, such as Juvéderm, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, plump lips, and add volume to hollow areas in your face for a more youthful appearance.

Dr. Berlin injects a tiny amount of gel-like dermal fillers beneath your skin to:

In just a few hours or so, you notice smoother-looking skin that lasts up to nine months, depending upon the texture and tone of your skin.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) to the rescue

Your body contains hyaluronic acid (HA), which is especially plentiful in your eyes, joints, and skin. It naturally attracts water, keeping your skin hydrated. As you age, however, HA production lessens, leaving your skin potentially parched. Your skin also loses volume, which may lead to a sunken, sagging, wrinkled appearance.

Injectable HA provides a lifeline. Dr. Berlin uses dermal fillers, such as Juvéderm, to enhance volume and reduce facial lines almost instantly.

Choosing the perfect filler

Juvéderm offers a range of formulas. Depending upon your specific needs, Dr. Berlin may choose:

Juvéderm Ultra Plus and Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC

These add volume to your lips, cheeks, and smile lines.

Juvéderm Voluma® XC

This injectable gel works best on your cheeks, chin, and temples. Plumping up the volume helps correct age-related volume loss.

Juvéderm Volux® XC

Your jawline will thank you once Dr. Berlin gives it better definition with this injectable gel.

Juvéderm Vollure® XC and Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC

These fillers address deeper facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, also known as smile lines.

Juvéderm Ultra XC

This formula delivers more dramatic results for deeper wrinkles. It also helps your lip area look lusher.

Juvéderm Volbella® XC

It plumps both your lips and undereye hollows.

Dr. Berlin helps you determine which solution(s) work best for your specific needs.

Benefits of Juvéderm

With Juvéderm injectables, it only takes minutes to erase years of lines and wrinkles from your face. Plus, they also contain pain-relieving lidocaine, so you feel little to no pain, just gain, from each application.

Your downtime remains minimal, much less than more complex cosmetic treatments. And unlike other procedures, you can reverse the treatment with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that dissolves the filler.

Juvéderm is also biodegradable. It’s absorbed by your body over time and flushed away through your lymphatic system.

Issues to consider

While Juvéderm remains safe for most patients when injected by Dr. Berlin, there are certain contraindications. Those on immunosuppressive therapy, prone to scarring, or allergic to lidocaine or HA fillers, should discuss this with the doctor beforehand.

It’s also important to avoid blood thinners, such as ibuprofen, aspirin, herbal medications, even garlic or ginger supplements, for two weeks prior to your procedure to reduce bleeding.

After your treatment, Dr. Berlin recommends staying out of direct sunlight for a few days. Any swelling or redness near the injection site should swiftly subside.

Good to go

Minimally invasive Juvéderm reversible dermal fillers stimulate collagen and elastin production for smoother, more youthful-looking skin. Dr. Berlin recommends repeated treatments over time to help your skin maintain a more youthful appearance.

If you’re ready to discuss nonsurgical treatments, such as Juvéderm, to reduce visible signs of aging, or any other medical or cosmetic dermatological issue, simply schedule a consultation with Dr. Berlin and our talented team today.
